Happy Birthday To Me! Today is my 36th birthday, and my day has been filled with birthday wishes and cards!
In celebration of being 1 year wiser, I’m sharing 36 thoughts that went through my head this birthday morning.
- Trusting God has been my best decision yet.
- Put your spouse before your kids. They came before the kids, and you want them to be there after the kids leave.
- Never stop dating your spouse.
- There is power in a 10 second kiss.
- Learn the love languages of your spouse and kids and love them the way they feel loved.
- There’s always hope, even when you feel hopeless.
- You can do great things.
- Dream BIG!
- And follow & chase those dreams!
- I need to re-make my bucket list.
- This year I WILL travel more, even if it is just a drive to a new town.
- Memories over material items!
- Take time each day to make someone feel loved/special/thought of.
- Continue to build other woman up; they’re not your competition
- You are never promised tomorrow; live life to the fullest.
- You can never tell your loved ones “I love you!” too many times.
- Nor can you hug them too much.
- A good friend is more valuable than rubies.
- But if you have enemies; kill them with kindness and smile nicely at them- it drives them nuts!
- Naps are a good thing; A very good thing!
- Eat ice cream for dinner once in a while; it makes great memories with your kids.
- Whoever made up “Sticks and stones may break my bones; but words will never hurt me!” was wrong! Words do hurt.
- There are some messed up nursery rhymes!
- First impressions matter.
- Focus on the good things in life.
- Forgive often.
- I need to exercise daily; even if it is just a walk around the block. 1 pound lost per week is 52 pounds a year!
- Invest in yourself.
- It is OK to say “NO!” if you don’t want to/can’t do something.
- And it is OK to change your mind!
- Continue to embrace your weird side; it is what makes you unique and embarrasses your kids 😉
- Remember that your Facebook friends rarely post the bad stuff; they share the good. Their life may seem glamorous, but they have their bad days too!
- Face your fears!
- And failure is growth!
- Ask for what you want; You may get what you ask for! (My friend asked for a vehicle; 2 people gave her their used vehicles!)
- You’re doing OK; don’t self-doubt!
